Wentworth Tennis - Summer

Starting Mid-May to the first week in October, Wentworth offers 4 outdoor har-tru tennis courts with three of those courts lighted for evening play. Members can participate in many challenging matches throughout the season or join in our ever-popular mixed-doubles play. Courts are open until 10:00 pm to extend your hours of enjoyment.

We have many programs and events throughout the summer.  Check our tennis calendar for a list of events with description.  Here are some of our weekly tennis programs that you can sign up for on a weekly basis.

ADULTS

Rapid Fire Clinics - Every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 9:30 - 10:30am.  We will hit over 1,000 balls in 60 minutes.  Come out to get some exercise and work on that stroke, over and over and over!  The cost is $14 per player with 4-6 players in a class. Sign up at the pro shop each week. Begins June 1.

Women's Round Robins - The round robins are open for all members to participate in on a weekly basis.  Simply sign up each week at the pro shop to play and the pro staff will set up the game for you. Call the pro shop at 433-5013 to sign up. Play begins June 1. Here is the round robin schedule:

6.5 Combined Level Wentcap League     Mondays     10:30am-Noon   (all 3.0 and 3.5 players welcome)
6.5 Level Round Robin     Tuesdays- 10:30-Noon / Wednesdays-5:00-6:30pm /  Thursdays-10:30-Noon
7.0-7.5 Combined Mixed Doubles Round Robin        Sundays - 4:00-5:30pm

Beginner Adult Tennis -  We will be holding classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the summer.  Six week sessions will be held at the cost of $150.00.  This group setting is a fun way to learn and meet new friends at the club.  See Chris for details.  Begins June 8.

JUNIORS

Our junior program is in full-swing (pun intended).  Our Developmental program includes the Nuggets (4-7 yr olds), the Challengers (8-10 yr olds), the Champions (11-12 yr olds) and our Teenseniors (13+ yr olds).  All classes meet twice per week on Mondays and Fridays and are intended for beginning tennis players.  This nine week program runs for three, 3-week sessions throughout the summer.  The cost for each 3 week session (6 classes) is $102.00 per player.  Sign up with Kevin if interested.  The schedule is:

The Nuggets meet at 9:00 - 10:00am.

The Challengers and Champions meet at 10:00 - 11:00am.

The Teenseniors meet 11:00 - Noon.

The Tournament Training Tennis Camps are for juniors ages 10 years and older.  We have a new format this year with groups divided by ability.  We have ten sessions lasting through the summer.  The VARSITY GROUP will be meeting on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday (3 days per week) from 1:30-5:30pm.  This is our stronger group and the cost is $185.00 per each weekly session.  The JUNIOR VARSITY GROUP will be meeting twice per week on Wednesday and Friday from 1:30-5:30pm.  The cost is $125.00 per weekly session.  See Kevin or email him at kchristian@wentworthbytheseacc.com in order to sign up your junior tennis player.
