The Camp Wentworth summer day program provides closely supervised and structured coaching in golf, tennis and swimming, as well as a more relaxed tone for arts 'n' crafts and games. The camp season consists of four; two-week sessions of children ranging from five to eight years of age.
The campers are guided by counselors, CITs, and the Camp Director. In each skill area, there will be a professional from the club directing the instruction, along with the counselors. Campers are responsible for providing their own tennis racquets and swim wear. We encourage campers to bring their own golf clubs if they have them.
There is a 2:12 counselor-to-camper ratio during the sessions. During the instructional periods there will be a 1:5 ratio, counselor and professional-to-camper, with the director overseeing each group periodically.
Each day Camp Wentworth will provide a snack, lunch, drinks and we will all eat lunch together. Due to serious peanut allergies, children are not allowed to come to camp with any food! We provide peanut-free meals and snacks.
Camp Wentworth Mission Statement: Camp Wentworth will provide the children of the membership with an instructional program that introduces them to various athletic, creative and unique activities relating to their individual age group and skill level. Our overall goal is to instill positive values in the children through age appropriate group activities and instructional programs that encourage cooperative learning and physical growth.
Also, the camp will educate the children on appropriate etiquette and rules required to exist in social and athletic settings with their peers, parents and other adults. Camp Wentworth will be an experience that will enhance the campers personal esteem that comes as a result of learned achievement, while always being measured by the smiles on each child's face.
