Wentworth Dolphins Swim Team -

The Dolphins Swim Team was established in 1997 by a small group of member's children who were interested in competitive swimming. Today, the team has grown to about 75 swimmers ranging in age from 5 to 18 years. The Dolphins compete in Division II of the Summer Aquatic League. During the summer season we compete with six other teams in the surrounding New Hampshire and Massachusetts area.

The benefits of being on this team are endless, including building self-confidence, achieving goals, learning sportsmanship, exercise, fun and many friendships. The program is aimed at learning the fundamentals of competitive swimming through a fun, positive and recreational environment. Being a member of the Dolphins team requires dedication, hard work and team spirit. Our concentration will be on learning and/or improving all four strokes, flip turns, "legal" swimming (so no one will disqualify in a meet) and finally increasing speed. The only requirement for participation is the swimmer needs to be able to swim freestyle (front crawl) at least one length of the pool. Swimmers who are children or grandchildren of members from ages 5 to 18 are welcome to join in this program.

Competition Swimmers
The swimmers are divided into the following age groups:

• 6 & Under
• 8 & Under
• 10 & Under
• 12 & Under
• 14 & Under
• 18 & Under

Swim Meet Events
Each age group has specific events:

Age 6 & Under
Swim half a pool length of freestyle and backstroke (12 & 1/2 yards)

Age 8 & Under
Swim one length of freestyle, backstroke, and/or breaststroke (25 yards)

Age 12 & Under
Swim one length of freestyle, backstroke, and/or breaststroke, butterfly, individual medley (25 yards)

Age 18 & Under
Swim two lengths of the pool in all strokes and the individual medley

Medley & Freestyle Relays are held for boys and girls in 2 divisions: 12 & Under and 13 -18.
